Second only to the incredible fishing, our home-cooked meals await your arrival.  Each morning, prior to fishing, you gather in the main lodge with anticipation for the day’s adventure.  The coffee is on pre-breakfast allowing for ample time to relax and take in the sunrise.

Your set breakfast menu will feature great starters such as omelets, eggs cooked to order, pancakes and a whole lot more.  Ready to take on the day…  You bet!

For lunches…  Your choice for the day includes options on traditional shore lunch or a hearty picnic lunch.  Requests are taken the night in advance and will be ready for you when your boat departs.

When the evening dinner bell rings at Ballard’s Black Island bring your appetite for a host of delicious entrée’s.   We start with appetizers in the dining room.  Followed with the American Plan, a scripted nightly menu, this includes flavors of prime-rib, roast pork, grilled steak, mouth watering BBQ ribs, oven baked chicken, the works!  Accompanied by an array of vegetables and breads, your dinner is then capped off with a host of satisfying desserts.

Ballard’s Signature Feature…   Wednesday night Camp Fish Fry!  Grab your favorite beverage, gather around the crackling fire, and feast your eyes on Canadian walleye.  This is a “guide specialty” as we prepare a traditional pan fried meal over an open fire with plenty of light-hearted banter thrown into the mix.

Beverages…  With every meal all beverages are included.  There is also a complimentary supply of juice, soda, and bottled water on hand throughout your stay.  Beers, wines, and liquors are not available on premise.  Guests are responsible to bring their own.
